information during this time.
Many an 'AHA!' or 'EUREKA' moment comes at these times.
When you close your eyes, become relaxed, or daydream, your brain waves are in alpha. This is the brain wave state
of heightened creativity and inspiration. When you engage in creative endeavors such as imagining or visualizing,
your brains waves register in alpha. In alpha, your conscious mind is less dominant and the subconscious mind is
coming to the forefront.
Hypnosis induces the alpha brain wave state. This is accomplished through a directed conscious
relaxation process in which the subject visualizes deepening states of muscle and mental relaxation. Once a
deep state of relaxation is achieved and the alpha state is obtained the subconscious mind becomes more
dominant.
Because your subconscious mind does not register the difference between imaginary reality and physical reality this
state can be a powerful tool for retraining our daily actions. Thoughts and mental images created and
